Welcome to Scout, your Wānaka retreat for adventure and relaxation. Designed by Interior Architecture firm Strutt Studios, this 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 2-living room home sleeps 6-8 and combines contemporary alpine design with comfort and style, just a 5-minute drive from Wānaka’s dining, coffee, and shopping hubs. Scout offers uninterrupted views of Lake Wānaka and the Southern Alps, blending seamlessly into its stunning landscape.

The design draws inspiration from the rich hues of Central Otago, with a palette of earthy browns, iron reds, and mushroom greys that shift with the changing light. Inside, the home balances bold materiality with thoughtful craftsmanship—polished concrete, walnut toned joinery, and handmade tiles create a tactile, immersive experience.

Highlights include a sunken living room with a picture window, a tiled dining banquette, an outdoor bathtub, and a skylight above the master bed for stargazing—all crafted to connect you to the spirit of Wānaka’s timeless beauty.

FIELD NOTES | @scroggincoffeeandeatery Scroggin’s pastries pose a problem…mostly on the waistline. Best enjoyed with a coffee at the cafe, but equally so at home at Scout. Perfect for a browse between pages or a post adventure treat.

  • We are fortunate to have a breadth of ski resorts at our doorstep.

    Cardrona: 20 minutes

    Treble Cone: 25 minutes

    Snow Farm: 25 minutes

  • Scout is a 5 minute drive, 15 minute cycle or 35 minute stroll from Wanaka central.

    Driving from Queenstown Airport is a picturesque 70 minute journey over the Crown Range.

  • There are two routes from Queenstown Airport to Wanaka.

    • Via the Crown Range - high altitude, twisty and scenic drive. During Winter may require chains.

    • Via Cromwell - less elevation changes. During Winter less likely to require chains (if at all).

  • Yes, the driveway comfortably fits two cars side by side. There is also ample free street parking.
